Best Beaches from La Digue, Seychelles Islands
A Tourist’s Impression of the Seychelles Islands Beaches
Although the island of La Digue measures only 10.08 km2, it hides some of the most beautiful beaches in the archipelago of Seychelles, the best beaches of your dreams.
We began our journey from Mahe Island by taking the Cat Cocos ferry early in the morning and after approx 90 min, from the very beginning of the harbor, we have been greeted by marvelous views.
On this lovely island, you can sit under palm trees, drink from a green coconut, and admire the beauty of the place around you. You can just close your eyes and let yourself be enveloped by the sound of waves that burst into fine white sand accompanied by birdsong that makes you feel as though you are in paradise. With the turquoise crystal water and stunning rock formations, everything is at your feet, just waiting to be discovered.
I will try to highlight what I consider to be La Digue’s most gorgeous beaches.
1. Anse Source D’Argent Beach
This is the beach of your dreams, why you came to the Seychelles.
The pearl of La Digue Island has crystal blue water and amazing unique rock formations. Everything you dreamed about a paradise beach can be found here. It is one of the most photographic beaches in the Seychelles; everywhere you look it is just perfection.
Not for nothing, it has been named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Make sure to get up early in the morning: because of its popularity, the beach is very crowded during the day. Make a point to visit, because the beauty of this beach will remain in your mind and heart a long time.
2. Anse Marron Beach
Anse Marron is a beach that has a special beauty, it’s hidden in the wilderness of the Seychelles and getting there is a real adventure, this adds a little magic to the location that already is amazingly spectacular. My advice is to get a guide because it’s very complicated to go by yourself. Because of the difficulty in getting there the beach is not crowded. It is just a perfect spot in paradise with crystal blue water lagoons and white fine sand that will make you feel like you are in heaven.

There are many beaches to choose from on La Digue Island, each with some particular qualities that make it unique and gorgeous. The next three best beaches are on the island’s east side; starting from Grand Anse the road leads to Petite Anse and then Anse Coco.
3. Grand Anse Beach
A unique aspect of this beach are the rock formations that are perfect for photo shoots. You can admire the great waves but do only that because swimming is very dangerous. It is perfect for sunbathing and relaxation.
4. Petite Anse Beach
Similar to Grand Anse, this is a quiet beach with a beautiful panorama where you can relax and enjoy a perfect day in the Seychelles; ideal for sunbathing.
5. Anse Coco Beach
Anse Coco is an amazing beach, where you can leave all your worldly worries behind and feel lost in paradise. This beautiful beach has a pretty lagoon with crystal blue water perfect for swimming, usually uncrowded so it’s just a sweet escape from civilization.
6. Anse Patates Beach
Anse Patates is located on northern coast from La Digue Island, it is a small beach with a gorgeous view,
soft sand and excellent sea weaves.
7. Anse La Reunion Beach
Anse La Reunion beach has a lovely view over the islands of Praslin, close to many accommodations and the center of the island. Here you can enjoy every day the amazing colorful sunsets, we did make a routine to watch the sun as it hides over the Praslin Island.
You can choose to visit the island as a day trip, or choose from the many options for accommodations, from luxury hotels to self catering, depending on your budget. The island is so beautiful that I highly recommend you stay at least three days in order to have time to explore and properly enjoy every beach. Cars are not allowed here but you can rent a bike to make your visit more convenient and cover a bigger area.
We fell in love with this island so we decided to stay eleven nights and it wasn’t even enough because every day we experience something new.
Truly I can say that La Digue is paradise on earth, has the best beaches and a must do, so just don’t miss it on your holiday in the Seychelles.
